‘Why Not Minot’

I was in Minot for the majority of the two glorious days of no school – aka my freedom weekend. I did get the book Four: A Divergent Collection which, is really good so far.

Here are some of the highlights of my trip –

Hotel Waterpark:

Unlike last time I went to this waterpark, I had only gone down the purple slide once.  Purple being the most freakiest.  Being in a place of confinement going 50 km/hour is not that much of a joy ride.  I went on the Orange and Yellow slides (being rated not so freaky) 6 times. Each slide 3 times before attempting the Purple again. When I finally got to the Purple one after climbing 55 steps (not including platforms) to get to it, I counted to 20 before pushing myself off. In the end, I went on ‘Purple Monster’ as I call it now 5 whole times. Most times, I was singing ”Dark Horse” by Katy Perry to slow myself down.  It worked as I lost myself in the song.  I enjoyed it even though I was going down like a rocket.

Finding New Things:

Even though I’m proud to be a Canadian, I do enjoy going to the U.S once in awhile. My reasons: It’s something to do, I get to go to new places and, I find new things.  Some gross ex: Cookie Dough Oreo (you may think otherwise).  Some TOTALLY EPIC, ex: Goldfish Mac’n’Cheese and MEGA Goldfish

I thought it was gross. But, you may think otherwise

I almost died when I saw this. 😀

This weekend I got to spend quality time with my mother – especially when she got us lost in Minot.  She took a wrong road.  Even though we are 5 million hours away from the nearest U.S. city,  it’s worth it to experience something other then where I am.

Wisconsin And Re-Blogifying

For the past 2 weeks have been so awesome.  I’ve been in Lake Geneva Wisconsin for one week. For the other week I’ve been spending time with family. It was been really fun.  Since I went to Ontario, there have been a lot of things I really liked. From the past two weeks I’ll narrow it down to two favourite things out of everything I’ve done.

Jelly Belly Factory –  My mom had flown back to Saskatchewan before me.  I went to Wisconsin with my aunt and my two cousins.  One of the places we went was the Jelly Belly Factory.  Even with my braces still on and not being able to  get like literally everything, it was still really fun. The tour was a train ride and videos on how Jelly Belly jelly beans are made. My favourite parts were the paintings that were made entirely out of Jelly Belly jelly beans. The process is a bit hard to explain but I will try to explain it the best I can. First, you trace your design in pencil. Then, you glaze a clear glue over the Jelly Beans. Finally, you use these chopstick kind of things and push the bean into place. The next was the store when the tour is finished. I never knew there were so many Jelly Beans. Some had me like ‘Ick” and ‘Ewww”. Some of these Jelly Beans were Dog Food flavoured, Skunk Spray and Baby Wipes. I bought some Jelly Belly jelly beans for my mom. (I was so tempted to eat them though).

HAHA MOM !!! LOOK WHERE I AM!!!

High Ropes Course- We also went to a high ropes course.  I did like the course, I did… I really did. The high ropes were fifteen to thirty-two feet high. The instructors were really nice too. But, I learned something about myself. No, it’s not heights, or else I wouldn’t go on any rides at the fair let alone even go. I have rope-snapophobia.  I was doing fine at first, but then I got a little too adventurous. I went on one part, but I got a little too shaky and just lost it. I came down.  My cousins on the other hand, were like all over the place. My older cousin was especially. She went on a really difficult one.

Taking big steps.

Taking big steps.

I have an announcement to make:

I’ve been thinking long and hard about this. Now that I’m going into the seventh grade (for me, it’s a shocker) I feel like I need to ‘Re-Blogify’ my whole blog.  I want to redo my blog to make it different. I’ll still do life experiences but that will only be once a while.

Keep an eye out on how my blog is going to change.  Let me tell you, there’s gonna be a lot of changes.  Let me know what you think when you see.

Off on my adventure 🙂

My parents booked me with the WestJet unaccompanied minor program.   My flight left at 6:20am.  I had to get up at 3:15 am. We stayed at a hotel in Regina so it wouldn’t have been earlier.  I had mixed feelings about going by myself but I knew once in Ontario the fun would really start!! Off I flew Eastward. It took two hours and thirty-five minutes.  It was cool to travel by myself and it gave me a sense of complete independence 🙂 The crew were so nice and awesome too. Even though I didn’t get to see the cockpit, I still had so much fun.  The crew took very good care of me.

The moment we landed, I looked out the window.  In my head I thought “I missed you so much”!! I saw the city in which my whole life started (literally). I had to wait till I could get off the plane while everyone else got off first.  The crew would take me when everyone was off.   I didn’t care though,  I was just happy with the fact I was in Ontario again. When I got off the plane,  a WestJet worker took me to find my uncle S so I could officially be in Ontario. When she found him,  he signed papers and  she left. We then got my suitcase and  we left.

I spent two days at my aunt L and Uncle S’ house with some of my cousins. We had fun playing video games and going to the park.  Soon enough, the time flew and I was going to my aunty G’s house. It was too late to go to the pool so I waited until the next day.  We didn’t go to the pool right in the morning because we had to go to church.  I’ve been to the church we had gone to a couple of times. Some people recognized me.

We went to the pool at six o clock.  I went to hide because my cousin C was coming and she had no clue I was in Ontario.  My Aunty G asked her she was liking being off school and she said yes.  she was So when she came, I jumped up and said “It’ll be better now that I”m here!!!!!” It took her awhile to figure out who I was because of the sun (I’m blaming it on the sun, you heard it). When she realized, she ran over screaming with joy and squeezing the living daylights out of me. We swam for a while then I went back to get some stuff because I was spending a couple days with her.

The next day was really fun. My friend E came over for a while. I found she was like two feet taller than me. I was shocked, where did the time go by?! Which btw is what I said to her. When she left, we went back to the pool.   After a delicious dinner,  we went to this Awesome frozen yogurt place called Menchies Frozen Yogurt. It was sooooooooo good!! I got cake batter flavour and piled Strawberry popping boba balls on the it. Boba balls are these little things that the inside is really juicy and the outside is edible too but it’s not as good as the inside.  We got our ice cream and left. Pretty soon the next day flew by and I went back to my aunt’s house.

So, this was my first week in Ontario.  More will come!!

Disclosure:  This is all my own opinion.  Was not paid/compensated in anyway.

R5 Concerto

Sorry for having a late post, I was very busy with other things like helping my family so we could move into our new house.  Lots to do and lots has happened the past two weeks.

Last weekend I was in Winnipeg. Not for any particular reason, just to go meet and watch R5 perform.  🙂 (My mom and dad got me the tickets for my birthday back in January)  It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. They made a bad year good.  I was so happy.  Here’s why.

IMG_20140412_161414

1. I got to meet them!!  It was soooooooooooo cool, they are the most amazing band (along with One Direction of course :P) Rydel, she’s the sister of the Band and Ratliff/Ellington’s best friend, touched my shoulder. I admire all of R5.

2. Star of Austin and Ally in the band. Ross Lynch who plays Austin Moon, is in R5. I’m not fangirling (maybe a little though ;P) I got too stand next to him!!!! Yayyy!!!!! It just so happens Ross is one of my all-time favourite people/bands.

3. American Idol Stars. There was a brother sister act who opened for R5. Their names are Brandon and Savannah. They were on American Idol season 8. They got eliminated in the quarterfinals. They were about 16-17 years old. To go from American Idol to opening for big shot bands like r5 made me realize that if you want to achieve your dream then, you have to work for it, and trust me, I am. I sooo want to be famous in anyway. I feel like I’m that kind of person who lives for the spotlight. But, we all have our own dreams, and that’s eh okay 😀

4. Selfie with Ryland #celebselfie. For those of you who might not know. Ryland is the youngest Lynch. He isn’t in the band but, he Dj’s  to get the crowd hyped up and he works the sound boards for each concert. He was so amazing and kind. I just had to get one with him.

IMG_20140412_171511

5. The songs they do are AMAZING!!!! Everyone should know at least an R5 song or two because, there AWESOME!!! Songs I like from them is… well… all of them 🙂 What’s your favourite song (s)? Songs they performed includes: Loud, Fallin for you, Billion Hits, Love The Way You Love Me and much more!!!!

For an update – my mom said I could write we are still working on the whole school issue.  She is ready to move back to Ontario.  So am I 😦  Thank you for your support.

Saskatoon…ing Part 2: Stores, Foods and Observatories Oh My!!!

Stores:

My parents and I went to an abnormally large amount of stores.  We went to stores like Indigo, a pet store called Petcetera and so much more!! I’m trying to find a better aquarium for Calvin.  The mall was a real mall.  Huge with lots of stores that were open.  Living in a small town, our mall is tiny…where businesses go to die.  There’s a lot of empty stores there.  In the mall I spotted something that I haven’t seen in a VERY LONG TIME! And I’m talking very long time. Something I thought only existed in Ontario. YOGEN FRUZ!!! I got to get a strawberry frozen yogurt. I got only sour toppings. Its nice to see something from your home province once in awhile:)  It made me realize how much I miss living in a real city.

Food:

Now you may be thinking. ” Food? Why Food?” Well my fellow humans I will tell you. I saw weird and good things this trip.  Foods like Yogen Fruz and an awesome cafe at a museum to funny foods  Chocolate Bacon Toffee.

FB_IMG_13943143231227652[1]

Would you eat this?I didn’t taste the bacon toffee because to me, just sounded plain weird.

They reminded me one thing and one thing only. Home. Don’t ask me why though. Food makes you  think of things so, why can’t I think of home? 😀  I guess right now I’d really like to move back home to Ontario.

Observatory:

The cool thing about my trip to Saskatoon (also the whole purpose of the trip) was the observatory. It is the university observatory which, is open to the public on Saturdays. I was standing outside when the roof started to open so the telescope could see out.  It was pretty cool when the roof opened.  After a clear day, the night was cloudy.  So it wasn’t cool when all I could see was clouds and white ( aka the moon).  If we lived in the city we could just go back the next clear night.  Living so far away, we can’t go back for awhile.   Still a pretty good experience in general.  I’m really glad my parents took me.

And that concludes our two part post of Saskatoon..ing.  Pretty fun huh?

Saskatoon…ing Part 1: The Chapter-Indigo Affiliate Quest

I am going to talk about my trip to Saskatoon for the weekend, in which I recently just returned from. This is part 1: The Chapters-Indigo Affiliate Quest.

Living in a small town, we only have a small Coles.  Back in Ontario, probably every week we went to Chapters to look and buy and eat good cookies from Starbucks.  Being in the big city we knew we had to make a stop at Indigo.  Being the newly affiliated Affiliate I now am, I decided to look at books that would be fun to review. So, I quested the whole Kids/Tweens/Teens places in search of that special book.

20140308_143539

Teacup oh teacup… how I missed you so!!!

First stop on the quest for the “Golden” book was… well… the 6-8 book area. Despite my age being 12, I still like some books meant for that age range. There was Geronimo books, Poptropica books but… no book I wanted to review. I stalled until my mom said to go to the 9-12 section.

I saw books that I, surprisingly never thought they existed. Like Adventure Time. (I read a couples pages, I just couldn’t help it… it looked funny) Pokémon and others. Yet, still nothing, so I found another section.

I was getting warmer, because I saw a book I really wanted to read. It is called Jedi Academy. It is about a boy who got rejected from pilot school and Yoda invited him to come to Jedi Academy. But, despite how cool it looked it wasn’t “Golden” it was more like “Silver”.  So I kept looking.  Then I got to the back of the 9 – 12 area…

20140308_144954

YESSSSSS!!! I found it. I may not look happy… but inside… I exploded

That’s right: Tales of a 6th grade Muppet: When Pigs Fly was the prize. Danvars, the main character and I have sooo much in common. A little info about the book for those who haven’t read the first two books.

Danvars woke up one day and found himself with Muppetmorphisis. He starts seeing things that only exist in the Muppets. There’s pros and cons for Danvars being a Muppet. Follow his adventures in Tales of a 6th Grade Muppet.

I am looking forward to reading my new book.

Stay tuned for part 2 (and possibly part 3) of Saskatoon…ing. 🙂  It involves hotels, hearses, Boomtowns, the moon and MORE!!!

Disclaimer: I am an Indigo affiliate. This post though is all my own opinion.  My mom helped me edit this one.

Assesippi Has Never Been So Much FUN!!!!!!!

As you see from the title: I am going to talk about my Ski Trip to good ole Assesippi.

Going down the hills were AMAZING!!! I went so fast I actually passed people. On the hills, there are different runs, I do have a favourite one. It is called Assesippi Valley. You go down the hill then turn and go up a mini hill. Then you go down the up and turn, after you go down a little hill and go down a mini hill, you go super fast!!! All the hills were fun, but the one I described was da BOMB!!!

I didn’t  go on the black diamonds because I’ve crashed and fallen way too many times… and that was on the bunny hill too!!! I just got my green mark before lunch so that was worth it. In the chalet, I went into the food court and I got Chicken bites and fries, they were pretty good.  They reminded me of JJs Steakery in Minot, North Dakota a little. After I went back out.

On the way down the hill to get to the lift, I saw my friend down near the chair lift and she just got her green mark. So, I went on the chair lift with her.  She got scared of being up so high  because when she went on the lift last with someone, the person she went with fell off the lift so they lowered it midway to the top. She then figured out where it was and got over her fear of heights very quickly. We went up and down so many times ’till it was time to leave. I got myself a cherry Laffy Taffy and got my friend a raspberry Laffy Taffy. We got back at around 5ish. Then, I went home to the daily grind.

I never wanted to leave which is pretty good considering it was my first time. I wish I could repeat it over, minus the LONG bus ride.If you were there you would be bored out of your mind (that is, if you don’t bring any or barely anything like I did hehe)

Disclaimer: I just wrote this because I went there on a school trip.  No one asked me to.  All my opinions.
