The Postponed Ski Trip and Company Update

Hey everybody!!  I would be talking about the ski trip but I’m not 😦 And here is why.

The ski trip was supposed to be the 22nd. Extreme Weather = heartbroken kids….especially me…who has never been skiing in her life.  It was something -31 C.  The chaperones/teachers didn’t even know if we had a bus driver. There is kind of a positive to the new date of the 30th and that is… I have a P.A day (school day off) on the 31st.  A really good weekend.  So it all works out in the end.

Now, you’re probably thinking why the title has ‘company update’ in it. No, I don’t run a company, I run a blogging Empire. But, the reason is this;I wrote to a company asking if I could review a product of theirs and maybe hold a contest.   I haven’t heard back from them. So, I will give it another shot with another company and cross my fingers for that letter.

The last thing I wanted to tell you.  Even though I’m not in Ontario anymore, there is still a little part of me that is 🙂  My older cousin sent a photo of me.  About 1 1/2 years ago, my mom and I entered a contest to be ambassadors of the library.  We had to write why we loved the library and we won !!  We did a photo shoot.

When I saw the picture I felt like One Direction!! It’s a big poster in the library.  I’M FAMOUS!!

This is the picture my cousin took of my poster in the library.
I’m such a beaut!!!!

Ski Trips And News

In just a matter of days, I, Jessica will be embarking on my first ever ski trip with my grade 6 class to Manitoba. I, have never been skiing in my life so that makes it all the more exciting for me!!! We are spending the whole day there. I have to be there at 7:30 but, that’s a piece of cake because…I have gotten up at 5:30 and stayed up until 2:30. (Another story in a later post) It will be fun because it’s a new experience for me as  I am going downhill skiing and going on a ski lift.  The view will be awesome and the adrenaline will be ultra high. I like ultra high adrenaline. The breeze will be great too.

In other news, I have a few announcements/ news about my upcoming year as the 12 year old!!!

1. In April I am going away to Winnipeg for a VIP Concert starring R5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Yayayayayay I’m really excited as it’s my first time seeing them.  I’ll be able to write about Winnipeg, the hotel we are staying at, and the concert hall.  Will be a different experience then TOronto.

2. The Ski trip to Manitoba  I was talking about up there.

3. I will be hosting an ask Jess on my email so just send a question to this address thejesspress11@gmail.com and at the end of the week on Friday I will sit down at the computer and answer every single on of your question on my blog. It can’t be anything personal (like where do I live or what last name is. stuff like that) or bad but other questions are fine. :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)  I’m doing this because I want to meet new people.  Then I will find out about your website too.

4. I sent a letter to a company saying I would like to review a product of theirs and maybe do a contest.  Something to make my blog grow. I REALLY do hope they say yes, because it will be so much fun.  I would have to put their logo on my website too.  CROSS YOUR FINGERS they say yes 🙂

See ya later- Jessica

The 12 Year Mark

January 11, my special day, the day I turn a year older, the day I celebrate with my friends, the day I go to the CN tower… but, wait a minute… I’m not in Toronto anymore. I’m here in Saskatchewan. Well, anyway… yesterday was my twelve birthday.  Back home there’s  so much to do.  Skyzone, CN Tower, Playdium, Movie theatre, bowling, and so much more.  In a small town far away from a city there isn’t that much to do.  It’s weird.  I had so much fun despite the location I’m in. Here’s what went down.

I got up at around 9ish keeping a careful eye on my ipad mini clock.  I was born at 10:10 am so I was cautious about it. 10:08, I race to my parents to spend the last 2 minutes of being 11 with the two people I’m close too. We talked and I look at the time 10:10 so I turned around and the first word of 12 yr old me was “HI”.  They sang happy birthday to me and then I opened presents.

My favourite present was the VIP package to the Winnipeg R5 concert. Way to go mom and dad!!  Made my day with it!!  In Toronto, my mom and I were going to the Big Ticket Summer Concert.  The traffic was so slow and so much.  When we got there we were right in front of the Molson Amphitheatre….sitting in our car…listening to R5.  When we got to the parking lot, the security said we couldn’t use that one.  We had to drive further and we missed R5.  I was devastated.  At least I got to see All Star Weekend, Veronica and Tyler Mederios.  I am looking forward to EVERYTHING!!!

Then after breakfast we went on a shopping spree. Here’s what I got.

Bulk Barn (a store where you can buy candy and other foods in bulk) – Radpack Gum, Warhead super sour drops and Airheads.

Coles (a bookstore) – Desktop Aquarium, Ripley’s Unbelievably Zany, you totally should get it, it’s really cool, and a mini One direction book. I kind of went overboard with this one but who cares… NOT ME #epicspree

My new pet – mom approved #immortal. I love Ripley’s Believe it or Not. One Direction #hunky

Right after my family went to Mr. Mikes.   I got to pick the place I wanted to go for my birthday dinner.  I picked there.  The food is like what I had in Minot, you can read about it in my post Minot of Life… Really good. I got a free desert. Worth it!!!

The day went fast and I wish I could do it over again but it was time too move on.

I also want to extend a happy birthday to my friend E back in Ontario.  Wish I was there to celebrate with you.

No matter where you are Carpe Diem!!

The Dawn of The Frozen Bubble Apocalypse

-44c , a temperature that has  all people of Saskatchewan staying inside. But on the other hand, my mom and I went out to blow bubbles and watch them freeze. We took hot water and dish detergent and mixed it together then well… blew. We braved the cold and we braved it HARD!!! Although my face felt like falling right off. My mom on the other hand was having fun and I was too. My mom is not a person who likes cold, so it surprised me that I was the one who was complaining its cold. I’m the complete OPPOSITE of my mom  when it comes to the cold. But, here is what went down in the DAWN OF THE FROZEN BUBBLE APOCALYPSE!!!  (In a creepy whisper…) ICE BUBBLES WERE RAINING EVERYWHERE!!

If you can see it. it’s still there. Collapsing , but still there.

can you see the ice bubble?

It’s still there… shocking, it’s still there

Note: this was tried by two people living in the Land of The Living Skies. If there is extreme weather in your area, I’d advise you stay inside because there is a chance you could get Frostbite. But if you do try it BUNDLE UP because it’s likely going to be like this. This morning it was -53c, not a lie.
