Welcome to the inner-workings of my mind

Minecraft: You may know that this is my favourite game. For those of you who don’t have a look at my last post, https://presswithjess.wordpress.com/2014/04/27/minecraftin-along/ I recently (meaning like literally three days ago, Big Noob) found out how to mod it. I was EXCITED so I did what I needed to do and downloaded ATTACK OF THE B-TEAM!!! Attack of The B-Team is a really cool modpack with an INSANE amount of mods (something near 110 mods). It took a long time but I finally got to work. The downside… I couldn’t play because I had school the next day (grrrrrr…school). Other modpacks I did were: YogBox-  My favourite mod in this is the Millenaire mod. You can work alongside the villagers and eventually become their Leader (I would be awesome at it :P) . That’s about it but you know I’ll be downloading more in the near future (by that I mean when I finish this blog)

School: Speaking of the devil, I moved to a new school. Its my 3rd one since moving here. My last one wasn’t bad, I had friends there. But, that’s how life is right ;). I’ve been in this school for about 2 weeks now. Here is my favourite class so far:

P.A.A- This is one of my all-time favourite classes. Even though this will be my second time doing it, I LOVE P.A.A. P.A.A stands for Practical And Applied Arts. We get to learn Home-Ec and Woodshop. I’m doing Home-Ec first (hehehehehehehehe free food :P) Last time we made… CHOCOLATE CHIP COOOOOOKIES (Cookie Monster will be proud). Tomorrow we’re making Blueberry Muffins. In honesty I’ve never really liked Blueberry Muffins, but hey. Maybe mine will taste good because I know I made them.

I also have a class called Adventure Ed. It’s kinda like Phys. Ed… only better. You get to go out and explore the community and do different things. Ex: Corn Mazes.

Well, that’s all for now. Stay Tuned for my next post. And, make sure to leave a like if you like the changes in my blogs appearance (I know I do)

‘Why Not Minot’

I was in Minot for the majority of the two glorious days of no school – aka my freedom weekend. I did get the book Four: A Divergent Collection which, is really good so far.

Here are some of the highlights of my trip –

Hotel Waterpark:

Unlike last time I went to this waterpark, I had only gone down the purple slide once.  Purple being the most freakiest.  Being in a place of confinement going 50 km/hour is not that much of a joy ride.  I went on the Orange and Yellow slides (being rated not so freaky) 6 times. Each slide 3 times before attempting the Purple again. When I finally got to the Purple one after climbing 55 steps (not including platforms) to get to it, I counted to 20 before pushing myself off. In the end, I went on ‘Purple Monster’ as I call it now 5 whole times. Most times, I was singing ”Dark Horse” by Katy Perry to slow myself down.  It worked as I lost myself in the song.  I enjoyed it even though I was going down like a rocket.

Finding New Things:

Even though I’m proud to be a Canadian, I do enjoy going to the U.S once in awhile. My reasons: It’s something to do, I get to go to new places and, I find new things.  Some gross ex: Cookie Dough Oreo (you may think otherwise).  Some TOTALLY EPIC, ex: Goldfish Mac’n’Cheese and MEGA Goldfish

BEST GOLDFISH EVAH!!!!!

I thought it was gross. But, you may think otherwise

I almost died when I saw this. 😀

This weekend I got to spend quality time with my mother – especially when she got us lost in Minot.  She took a wrong road.  Even though we are 5 million hours away from the nearest U.S. city,  it’s worth it to experience something other then where I am.

New Pet #2

I’m sorry I haven’t done a blog for a couple of weeks but I have a good reason why. I have been helping my grandparents move about an hour away from us.

My news!!

I bought a new pet. But to get it I needed money. So, I sold my Ds and two games. I have my 3ds so it’s all good. When we went the first time to the pawn shop… it was closed. So I had to wait till the next day. So when the next day finally came, we had to go help my grandparents. They were moving stuff up to their new house.  So, I ended up waiting until the next day.

I was very patient.

The day finally came, I was over the MOON!!! (Not literally though).  We went to  a pet store by my house that provides good supplies, information and has small pets like: Fish,Hamsters and Birds.  While I was hoping for a hamster, my mom said no rodents.  One day maybe 🙂  )

There were so many different fish, but I had to get a Betta again because of money. They are cheaper.  (Like Calvin as you may know in Introducing… My Pet Calvin and Moving On).  This time his name is Hobbes. It’s not a coincidence that I have had two fish named Calvin and Hobbes.   I planned that on porpoise (I mean purpose, but I’ve got fish on the brain haha).

In the car I pondered this, How long will Hobbes last… Six months or more. In the driveway I carefully got out due to the fact I have a blue and red male Betta in my hands.  I’m trying for more then six months.

Wisconsin And Re-Blogifying

For the past 2 weeks have been so awesome.  I’ve been in Lake Geneva Wisconsin for one week. For the other week I’ve been spending time with family. It was been really fun.  Since I went to Ontario, there have been a lot of things I really liked. From the past two weeks I’ll narrow it down to two favourite things out of everything I’ve done.

Jelly Belly Factory –  My mom had flown back to Saskatchewan before me.  I went to Wisconsin with my aunt and my two cousins.  One of the places we went was the Jelly Belly Factory.  Even with my braces still on and not being able to  get like literally everything, it was still really fun. The tour was a train ride and videos on how Jelly Belly jelly beans are made. My favourite parts were the paintings that were made entirely out of Jelly Belly jelly beans. The process is a bit hard to explain but I will try to explain it the best I can. First, you trace your design in pencil. Then, you glaze a clear glue over the Jelly Beans. Finally, you use these chopstick kind of things and push the bean into place. The next was the store when the tour is finished. I never knew there were so many Jelly Beans. Some had me like ‘Ick” and ‘Ewww”. Some of these Jelly Beans were Dog Food flavoured, Skunk Spray and Baby Wipes. I bought some Jelly Belly jelly beans for my mom. (I was so tempted to eat them though).

HAHA MOM !!! LOOK WHERE I AM!!!

High Ropes Course- We also went to a high ropes course.  I did like the course, I did… I really did. The high ropes were fifteen to thirty-two feet high. The instructors were really nice too. But, I learned something about myself. No, it’s not heights, or else I wouldn’t go on any rides at the fair let alone even go. I have rope-snapophobia.  I was doing fine at first, but then I got a little too adventurous. I went on one part, but I got a little too shaky and just lost it. I came down.  My cousins on the other hand, were like all over the place. My older cousin was especially. She went on a really difficult one.

Taking big steps.

Taking big steps.

I have an announcement to make:

I’ve been thinking long and hard about this. Now that I’m going into the seventh grade (for me, it’s a shocker) I feel like I need to ‘Re-Blogify’ my whole blog.  I want to redo my blog to make it different. I’ll still do life experiences but that will only be once a while.

Keep an eye out on how my blog is going to change.  Let me tell you, there’s gonna be a lot of changes.  Let me know what you think when you see.

Ripleys Toronto

I was in Toronto at the Ripley’s Aquarium yesterday so I could bring you this awesome amazing blog content.

This story goes way back.  The aquarium opened a little bit after I had moved to Saskatchewan. I was devastated.  I really was looking forward to it.   My mom told me when we came back to visit we could go so I could finally see what it was like.  When the trip was booked I was ecstatic.

I wrote an email to a woman named Maggie Doucette who works for the aquarium as a public relations associate.  I asked if I could interview someone.  She said there was no interviewees available and she could answer them for me. I asked seven questions that I wanted to know.

1. how much food does it take to feed all the animals?   750 lbs a week

2. how many employees does it take to keep all the animals fed and safe? Our Husbandry team consists of over 30 highly trained staff

3. what is the biggest animal?  Sawfish 450 lbs

4. How much water altogether? 5.7 million litres

5. how much food do the sharks eat in a day? Due to a slow metabolism sharks don’t eat every day.  Depending on the species they typically eat between 2-5% of their body weight a week.

6. about how many animals are in the entire aquarium? Roughly 16,000

7. most popular exhibit? Dangerous Lagoon

On the way there, my mom and I took the GO train.

On the way there, my mom and I took the GO train.

I took out my phone on the GO, but my mom said I would lose battery power.  I looked around at everyone with their phones and laptops.  I told my mom I wanted to fit in.  She laughed which was a bad idea cuz we were in the quiet zone.

I was so happy to go.

I was so happy to go.

When we were in the aquarium it was so cool!!!!!!!! There were sharks and sea turtles and piranhas. There were so many different kinds of fish that I never even knew of – I was amazed.

Shark AWESOME!!!

The way males give birth I think is hilarious.

Being able to touch a bamboo shark

What surprised me the most is that a harmless looking little yellow fish could be so lethal and dangerous (it had an accurate resemblance to Bubbles from Finding Nemo).   I could see the other fish I saw in there being lethal and dangerous. When I saw the little yellow one I thought it was there for bait. But, when I saw the board I thought “Oh”.

My favorite part was the Dangerous Lagoon. Dangerous Lagoon was really cool it had a moving walkway, sharks, sawfish, sea turtles and much more!!!!! On our ‘quest’ into the lagoon, there was the huge sawfish just lounging on top of the tube. It was funny because his mouth was just going up and down like he was cleaning the top like those cleaner fish.  Also saw a really cool starfish.

I had so much fun on this trip.  I miss Toronto so much and hope we move back soon.  This was a cool experience.

I would like to thank Maggie Doucette for answering my questions and the Ripley’s aquarium for a good time

Alert: I will not be posting for a couple weeks. My next post will say why.

Disclosure: I was not paid or didn’t get anything for this post.  All my opinion and I loved it.  Hopefully I get to do more stuff.

TFIOS review

Sorry I did this a day late. I’ve been busy LOVING being in Ontario. Now, here it is!!!!! The Fault In Our Stars Review.

Disclaimer: SilverCity Movie Theatre and the makers of TFIOS did not pay trillions and trillions of money (although it would be nice ;)) for this review.

This is a description: (in my own words)

17 year old Hazel Grace (Shailene Woodley) has cancer. She has an oxygen machine which helps her breathe as her lungs will fill up with fluid. She reluctantly goes to a couple support group for kids with cancer where she meets a honestly good looking guy named Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort). As they get to know each other, both develop a relationship. Augustus is an amputee and later on getting cancer and having another leg amputated (I think because I couldn’t see but it looked a lot like it) and Hazel has stage 4 cancer. Together they are unstoppable. They have a picnic, go to Amsterdam to see the writer of their favourite book “An Imperial Infliction” to find answers, only to get insulted and get no answers because he was heavily wasted. Augustus also hosts a pre-funeral so he could attend it in person.

My favourite parts were when Augustus and Hazel were taking off and Augustus was so amazed because he’s never been on a plane.  Also when they first met and he put a cigarette in his mouth and Hazel was disgusted.  He explains that you put the thing that does the killing between your teeth but don’t give it the power to do the killing. That was a good metaphor as Augustus said.

I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes these kinds of movies (I think it’s a Rom-Com, but I have no clue). I’m thinking of reading the book too.

If you see the movie, hope you felt happy and sad and everything in between as I did. BYEEEEEEE

The Best Summer EVER

Ah finally… out of Saskatchewan. Its been an interesting year but I’m so happy to be back where I belong. This… is the first week of my time in… Ontario.

Off on my adventure 🙂

My parents booked me with the WestJet unaccompanied minor program.   My flight left at 6:20am.  I had to get up at 3:15 am. We stayed at a hotel in Regina so it wouldn’t have been earlier.  I had mixed feelings about going by myself but I knew once in Ontario the fun would really start!! Off I flew Eastward. It took two hours and thirty-five minutes.  It was cool to travel by myself and it gave me a sense of complete independence 🙂 The crew were so nice and awesome too. Even though I didn’t get to see the cockpit, I still had so much fun.  The crew took very good care of me.

The moment we landed, I looked out the window.  In my head I thought “I missed you so much”!! I saw the city in which my whole life started (literally). I had to wait till I could get off the plane while everyone else got off first.  The crew would take me when everyone was off.   I didn’t care though,  I was just happy with the fact I was in Ontario again. When I got off the plane,  a WestJet worker took me to find my uncle S so I could officially be in Ontario. When she found him,  he signed papers and  she left. We then got my suitcase and  we left.

I spent two days at my aunt L and Uncle S’ house with some of my cousins. We had fun playing video games and going to the park.  Soon enough, the time flew and I was going to my aunty G’s house. It was too late to go to the pool so I waited until the next day.  We didn’t go to the pool right in the morning because we had to go to church.  I’ve been to the church we had gone to a couple of times. Some people recognized me.

We went to the pool at six o clock.  I went to hide because my cousin C was coming and she had no clue I was in Ontario.  My Aunty G asked her she was liking being off school and she said yes.  she was So when she came, I jumped up and said “It’ll be better now that I”m here!!!!!” It took her awhile to figure out who I was because of the sun (I’m blaming it on the sun, you heard it). When she realized, she ran over screaming with joy and squeezing the living daylights out of me. We swam for a while then I went back to get some stuff because I was spending a couple days with her.

The next day was really fun. My friend E came over for a while. I found she was like two feet taller than me. I was shocked, where did the time go by?! Which btw is what I said to her. When she left, we went back to the pool.   After a delicious dinner,  we went to this Awesome frozen yogurt place called Menchies Frozen Yogurt. It was sooooooooo good!! I got cake batter flavour and piled Strawberry popping boba balls on the it. Boba balls are these little things that the inside is really juicy and the outside is edible too but it’s not as good as the inside.  We got our ice cream and left. Pretty soon the next day flew by and I went back to my aunt’s house.

So, this was my first week in Ontario.  More will come!!

Disclosure:  This is all my own opinion.  Was not paid/compensated in anyway.
